David Heson, a senior year Physics major student at Mississippi State University and Shackouls Honors College, has had his research published in the Journal of Statistical Mechanics: Theory and Experiment.

The article titled "Violation of ferromagnetic ordering of energy levels in spin rings for the singlet," is an investigation into the energy properties of 1-Dimensional Heisenberg Ferromagnetic Spin Rings that is important for applications in areas such as topological materials and quantum computing.

He authored the paper together with Shannon Starr, University of Alabama at Birmingham, and Jacob Thornton, Mississippi State University.
