Maddy Green

Maddy Green is a Senior Anthropology and Religion double major with minors in Ancient Greek, Middle Eastern Cultures, and Linguistics. She has also completed the Cursus Honorum. Her research lies primarily in the field of Near Eastern Archaeology with interests in pottery analysis, oral traditions & folktales, cultural transmission, religious expression, and the Bronze and Iron Ages. Her past research has included the fields of household archaeology and folklore studies, including an Iron Age house reconstruction and an analysis of the Traveling Jack tales of the Appalachia region in the United States. She is currently pursuing an Oxbridge Tutorial with Dr. DiGuilio, analyzing the Ancient Greek writings concerning Odysseus and Biblical Samson to determine if there are any similarities in their descriptions and the words used to describe their trickster natures.
